CCS students provided another wonderful evening of music at the Spring Concert. Check out the Music Page for pictures and the program - also check out the YouTube link at the right for video clips.
Your baseball/softball pictures. Due to the odd weather and schedule conflicts I have not been able to get pictures from the baseball/softball season. If anyone has some they would like to share for the website (and next year's yearbook) please let me know. You can also borrow a camera if you need one. Thanks for your help. Many of the games I planned on attending were changed from home to double headers away. Mrs. Reynolds had her hands full trying to cope with hectic schedule and all the changes/cancellations.
Over the coming weeks CCS will be moving forward with adding social media links and services like an Official Facebook Page and Twitter Account. We will also be completely reformatting the website to reflect statistics accumulated over the past few years. If you have a request about how we can best serve your needs, please contact the school with your suggestions. And....don't forget to "like" us on Facebook!
All prom night photos have been added - if you have something you would like to submit to the site, please contact Mr. Trombley.
Once again you check out the Prom 2012 Page for "live" highlights from this year's prom.
Check out the 7-12 Page for pictures from the recent science trips.
You know - some schools tell you that a concert is coming up and that is all about you get. At CCS here is what you get on the Music Page - pictures from the afternoon concert - a copy of the program so you know who all the players are and a link to a YouTube channel with clips of all the songs. You know - just sayin'.
Prom Court photo and picture information for the prom is included on the Prom 2012 page. Remember to check out the CCS site all night Saturday night for "live" updates from the Prom. The Coronation is set for 11:00 PM. Doors will open for the public at 10:45 PM. A one dollar donation will be collected to watch the coronation.
Over on the Nurses' Page is some important information about ticks, and caterpillars from the Franklin County Public Health Department. man these stories really bug me. (See what I did there?)
It seems wherever you look you can see CCS graduates excelling in their college years. Check out the Sports Page for a short story and a few pictures about a former soccer star.
There will be 2 American Heart Association CPR/AED class offered on May 18th at Chateaugay Central School in the School Library Conference room. The first one will be from 8-11:30 for anyone who would want to be certified in CPR. The course is $5 for Chateaugay Staff and residents. The second one will be from 12-4 pm for coaches and healthcare providers. For coaches a NYSED CPR/AED certificate will be issued. The course is $5 for Chateaugay staff and residents. Each class is limited to 9. Please call Lorraine Kourofsky to register or if you have any questions at 497-6611 ext 333.
Check out the 7-12 Page for pictures and highlights from the golf tournament this weekend.
On the 7-12 Page you can read about the Mock Crash held in the parking lot at CCS this morning as well as see the pictures. Please be warned - even though this was a staged event, the pictures and emotions felt by all seem all too real. We cannot thank the members of the fire and rescue teams, the state police troopers and Scott Smith for all their hard work this morning and every day they respond to the needs of the community when we need them the most.
"I will be an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Environmental and Forest Biology at SUNY-ESF in
Syracuse, NY. http://www.esf.edu/efb/ I will be continuing my
research on evolution of Pacific Island invertebrates, focusing on
the land snails of Palau, as well as research on marine
invertebrates and initiating projects on NYS land snails. I'll be
teaching Principles of Evolution and Invertebrate Zoology at ESF
(undergraduate courses) as well as training grad students (M.S.,
M.P.S., Ph.D. degrees). SUNY-ESF has a broad range of programs for
undergraduates (http://www.esf.edu/admissions/programs.htm)
including the Conservation Biology major, which I will be most
involved with. Here is some info on undergrad programs specifically
in ESF's EFB dept.: http://www.esf.edu/EFB/undergrad/ ESF also
provides many opportunities for hand-on learning through field
courses at ESF's many properties around the Adirondacks and NYS,
such as Cranberry Lake

Mrs. Andre has certified this year's senior trip as the best one she has even been on. She even brought in a camera full of pictures from various stops along the way. If you look closely in the photos you will see a former CCS teacher and a former CCS student. Great pictures. If any senior wants to share their pictures from the trip - please drop off your camera/memory card to Mr. Trombley. PICTURES
We
were very fortunate to have Jules Comeau, DDS and Dr Richard Dunham,
DMD come to Chateaugay Central School to do dental screenings for
our students. Many years ago, Chateaugay Central School had their
own Dental Hygienist, Shirley Krakower. This is not how her name was
spelled, but it is all that I can remember. Fifty nine students
participated in the screening. Heart disease and poor dental care
are related. If someone has an infection, this sometimes enters the
blood system and infects various organs. As soon as the first tooth
appears, mouth care should begin. Added to the webpage are 2
handouts from the CDC with more information. I would like to thank
Josh Roulston, Danny Wilcox, Carolyn and Desiree Stumpf, Ashley
Legacy, Chelsi Rondo, Devin Willis, Jake English and Morgan Legacy
for their hard work in making this a great event for all the
students. There was a tooth brushing and flossing demonstration.
Each student received a small thank you packet. Teeth should be
brushed and flossed at least twice a day to prevent decay and
deterioration of teeth and gums.
