Annual Budget Hearing and Budget Vote/Elections

The Annual Budget Hearing will be held on May 13, 2008 in the auditorium beginning at 7:00 PM.
The Annual Meeting, Budget Vote and Board of Education Election will be held on May 20, 2008 from 1:00-9:00 PM in the gymnasium.

Register for Universal Pre-Kindergarten

The CCS Board of Education recently voted to begin the process to establish a Universal Pre-Kindergarten program at Chateaugay Elementary School. One of the first steps is to see who is interested in attending. You may come to the Elementary Office on Friday, June 6 to register your child. Your child should turn 4 years old by December 1, 2008. You should bring with you:

Your Child's Birth Certificate and Immunization Record
Income Verification
Proof of Residence

Kindergarten Screening - May 14 and May 15

Thank you to all the parents who registered their children for Kindergarten in the fall. At the time of registration you also scheduled a screening date for your child. The screening dates are May 14 and May 15. Chandra Henderson will be sending reminder notices when it gets closer to the screening dates. The process is a fun time for your child. There is nothing you can do to study or prepare for the screening.

The best thing parents can do to encourage school success is to read to your child everyday. Talk to your child about the things he or she is interested in. Play together and play with friends. Run, jump, climb and be as active as you enjoy the spring weather. Count the butterflies, birds and baseballs or just about anything. Name the colors of the grass, house, fire truck and whatever else you see. That is how kids learn best.
