Thanks to the Connor family we have a nice video full of great pictures from the 2009 baseball season. Due to a small technical problem we could not play it at the Spring Awards Night, but we do have it HERE for you. It is fairly large so be patient. Thanks again Mrs. Conners.
The Varsity Softball time logged in a ton of hits and many runs last night in an exciting game against Salmon River but it was not enough. In one of their closest matches of the season the team lost by three runs. Maybe I am good luck. There are a few PICTURES
I
know that all the fans of CCS basketball thank the Boys' varsity
team for another great season of memories. There are few teams who
can provide back to back state title trips never mind three in a
row. Once again you made us proud as did all the winter sports
teams. Thanks especially goes to Mr. Bob Green for the thousands of
pictures he provided for you to enjoy. He was able to get courtside
access for the playoff game in Glens Falls and came away with some
of his best pictures to date. Please thank him when you get a chance
he really came through for all of you during the basketball season.

Below are links for the games that NorthCountySports.Net will be broadcasting during the Final Four Weekend in Glens Falls. If you have other links you would like to share regarding the Final Four appearance, please EMAIL them to me.

Mr. LaPlante's and Miss Helm's classes worked on a special rap for the basketball team.
Thanks once again to Mr. Green we have some great shots from the game before the game. In other words, Friday's matchup which propelled them to Saturday and the thrilling come from behind win. What would you guys do without Mr. Green? PICTURES
For
those who were there the Boys' ascent to their third straight final
four appearance made for an exciting weekend of basketball. From a 19
point deficit to an overtime win, the weekend proved one of the most
memorable in a season full of great memories. Once again they head
to Glens Falls for an exciting weekend of basketball. Thanks to Mr.
Green we have over 400 pictures to share. If you catch them in order
you will notice he focused on the scoreboard so you can see the
comeback. Congratulations to the whole team.
PICTURES.
Many of the bugs have been worked out with the website (although there are still a few broken links to fix). I have TONS of pictures to share from Mr. Green. Grab something to drink and settle in. It will take some time to peruse all the photos I am posting here today.

On Friday the 13th CCS said goodbye to 3 cheerleaders and three basketball players. The cheerleaders are Devin Cassavaw, Hannah Gardiner and Philicia LaBare. The basketball players are Drew Boyea, Andrew Gadway and Brad Spinner. These 6 saw some amazing basketball action over the past few years and we thank them for their service to the school and for the many years of memories. Once again I am posting the pictures (thanks to Mrs. Trombley) in HIGH-RES so you can download them and print them out. PICTURES - I believe I will have more to add from Mr. Green soon.
200+ photos from the recent Varsity and JV Girls' games against Salmon River. PICTURES
At
last night's dominant win over St. Regis Falls the senior members of
the Girls' Varsity basketball team were recognized for their hard
work and dedication over the past several years. The parents were
also recognized for their dedication as well. There are are few more
games left in the season before they start their playoff run so come
to the gym and se them in action. The seniors are: Maggie Trombly,
Katie Hamelin, Candace Fowler, Kateri Stemmer and Danielle Swanston.
I am posting the pictures in HIGH-RES so you can save them and print
them. They are optimized for 5 X 7 size.

Thanks once again to Mr. Green we can share over 800 pictures from some recent basketball games. Included this time are pictures from the Varsity girls as well as the Modified Boys' teams. Girls - Boys
I
guess the old rhyme does not work in this case. Either way the game
against Madrid was one for the ages as the home team battled from
behind all game for a big win over their rivals. Thanks, once again,
to Mr. Green we have over 300 pictures from the game.
PICTURES - Don't forget, if you have a chance
to take some pictures at the game and want to share them, send them
on a CD, a thumb drive, or email a few of your best shots.
It turned out to be a nail biter for the JV girls and a blow out for the Varsity squad, but both teams pulled out victories over the visiting Edwards-Knox team Monday night. Mr. Green once again provides great pictures from both games. PICTURES
Emily Jackson was on the sidelines for much of the game Friday night and has some great pictures of action under the net as well as some great shots of the cheerleading squad. Enjoy these Pictures
Last
Friday night the gym was packed. Perhaps a bit more than normal. The
reason for the extra bodies is that the State Championship banner
was raised and the State Championship team from last year was
honored once again. Thanks goes out to the band and chorus members
for providing the music. Thanks to the returning players. Thanks to
the coaches. Thanks to the fans. And a HUGE thanks to Mr. Green who
snapped up several photos of the whole night. And by the way....both
teams came up big late in the game to score some wins on a special
night in Chateaugay.PICTURES

With all the excitement of the Final Four trip and the preparations for Open House, a few photos were not posted. These are from the send off the whole school gave to the team as they headed off to Glens Falls. Pictures
This morning I was given a CD with over 2,000 pictures. Yes, you read that right. There are three zeros. Thanks to Mr. Green once again there is something here for everyone. Mrs. Green said that if any team member wants these pictures please get word to her or Mr. Green and they will burn a DVD for you. To keep the file sizes somewhat manageable I broke up the pictures into 5 groups. Thanks to the Greens. Batch 1 - Batch 2 - Batch 3 - Batch 4 - Batch 5
Not a bad finish ladies! If you have not all ready heard, the Volleyball team nearly pulled it off Sunday morning by fighting back against a team that steamrolled through the tournament. Our ladies lost 25-21 and 25-20 before breaking through with a win of their own. The 4th match was a marathon that ended the season for the team when they lost 29-27. Congratulations to the whole team and the coaching staff. I think the folks down in Glens Falls have to be asking what goes on in our little town after the basketball trips to the Final Four and the consecutive Final Four trips for this all-star team. If there anyone wants to send in some pictures or video clips to share, please do so.
It
was loud, nerve racking and, ultimately exciting in Glens Falls
Saturday afternoon as the Chateaugay Volleyball team dug down deep
and came from behind to secure a place in the Finals on Sunday.
After all four of the Final Four teams played each other a single
elimination round robin mini-tournament had to be held to decide who
would move on. The Bulldogs prevailed in both games and will now
play for the title. Congratulations ladies. Thanks to Mrs. Trombley
we have some great pictures of all the action....PICTURES
- If anyone else has something to share, please send it in.
With the help of an amazing website, Animoto, Mr. Jaggers made a great video honoring the Volleyball team. Thanks Mr. J.
With
maroon and white balloons in tow the Varsity Volleyball team took a
quick tour of the school so all the students could cheer them on
before the team boarded the bus to head down to Glens Falls for
their first Final Four match tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM. Emily
Jackson was on hand for some great photos of the team's walk through
the halls and a parting shot of the team heading off in the bus.
Once again, we wish them well and hope that everyone who is heading
down to see them play has a safe trip.

Another batch of soccer photos appeared un my mailbox. They are from the soccer playoff game in Potsdam where the Lady Bulldogs won 4-0 to move onto the finals where they lost a heartbreaker 1-0. Thanks for a great season this year. PICTURES
Stephen Bernier was on hand for the Senior Volleyball game and took quite a few pictures. I also took a bunch. Congrats to the seniors on a big win and we wish the team the best during the playoff season. Stephen's Pics - Mr. T's Pics
OK people...I received some pictures from a parent of a Chazy soccer player. His son played here a few weeks ago. He took a ton of pictures of the game to share with you. And yet, other than Mr. Green, nothing from all those camera on the sidelines. Thanks anonymous donor. Email me please and I will give proper credit. Pictures
Last week Katie Hamelin reached a significant milestone in her soccer career. She captured the Section X scoring title in a game away versus Salmon River. Thanks to Mr. Green we have over 500 pictures from the match. Congratulations to Katie on such a great soccer career. Good luck to her and all the teams in the playoffs. PICTURES
Here are 900 more pictures from a recent game. Thanks, Mr. Green. PICTURES
On Sunday, October 12, 2008, the team coached by Dan Cowan capped off an undefeated season by winning the 11 & 12 year old division. I am including a slideshow of a few pictures with many of the same group photos with a link to my personal Google account with the original, high resolution images for parents to download and print. I will leave the pictures up for a few weeks so please download them as soon as possible. DIRECT LINK FOR PHOTOS - If you have pictures/stories of other youth soccer teams to share, please get them to Mr. Trombley and I can post them here. All the youth teams had great seasons so let me help you brag.
The photos are coming now fast and furiously. Not only do I have some from Mr. Green (see below), but Emily Jackson has contributed several more pictures. This should keep you all satisfied for now. PICTURES
How about another 600 pictures or more from the recent Girls' Varsity Soccer game. Thanks to Rob Green we have them for you. PICTURES - Large file warning.
There is someone out there who takes more pictures than I do. And fortunately for you he is willing to share. I received over 600 photos from last night's Boys' Varsity game from Bob Green. This makes for a large page but I bet there is something there for everyone. Thanks Mr. Green. PICTURES
The Varsity Girl's Soccer team won their Friday night match 2-0 against St. Lawrence Central. I stayed for a short time but had to get home for a quick dinner in time to get back to school for the dance...if only we had a class full of students who could take pictures at these things....hmm....PICTURES
Another batch of photos courtesy of the Media & Tech class. if you have ever tried to get pictures in the gym of volleyball then you know how nice these photos are. Please remember you can send in photos to share. Look for more pictures of the Volleyball teams and soccer teams over the coming weeks. PICTURES
The JV Boys' Soccer team had to go into overtime in a scoreless tie with Massena, but after about seven minutes Dylan Lamica found the back of the net for a 1-0 win. Katasha and Kristina Gillette took pictures at the game. They (along with other members of the Media & Tech class) will be at other games in the next few weeks. Great pictures ladies. PICTURES
Emily reminded me that I did not post some pictures she took at a recent soccer game. Here they are in a slideshow format:

It was a decisive win for the JV Boys as they
traveled to Colton for their first game of the season. I lost count
of the score and who made all the key shots but I do know that
Michael Boyea netted three goals. Coach LaPlante was glad for the
win but looks forward to some tough games. The JV squad will play
many top notch schools this season. As for pictures...there is a new
class at CCS and many of those students will take up the picture
taking duties but that does not mean you can't still help. If you
have something you would like to share, send it in.

Mrs. Reynolds has been maintaining two calendars for sports. One is located at viewmyschedule.com. Once you get there you can type in the name of the school or you can CLICK HERE to go to Chateaugay's page. Browse around to find the schedule you need. Also, you can see her iCal HERE. You can subscribe to her calendar which means the data will arrive in your email box. To do this, click on the "Subscribe to Calendar" button and enter your email address. If you would like to be removed from the mailing list, click on the same button, enter your address and chose the REMOVE option. Mrs. Reynolds says that the ViewMySchedule will be the most accurate but she will keep the school iCal as up to date as possible. Whew...I'm tired just writing about all the hard work she is doing to keep you all informed.
Reminder: All students are required to ride the bus both to AND from the destination on extra bus trips. Students may leave a destination with their parent/legal guardian ONLY after his/her parent/legal guardian has signed the CCS release form. The person in charge shall carry a release form. In accordance with New York State law, students shall not be allowed to leave an extra bus trip destination with anyone other than a parent/legal guardian.
Mrs. Reynolds wants ALL soccer players to be aware of an important change in the soccer rules. "Attention all Soccer Players for the Fall 2008 Season - Players are required to wear NOCSAE (National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment) - approves shin guards. RULING: Effective with the 2008 fall season, shin guards must meet NOCSAE specifications AND bear the NOCSAE seal. Effective with the 2008-2009 high school soccer season players will be penalized for subsequent violations of illegal equipment rules. Players will no longer be able to wear inappropriate, undersized shin guards. Shin guards need to be placed no higher than two inches above the ankle for safety purposes." - Carl Normandin, Director of Interscholastic Athletics, Section 10
What this means for MANY players is that the shin guards you presently use may NOT be appropriate and meet the qualifications.
